LeakSOS attended a bathroom leak investigation in Foxrock after water damage appeared on the ceiling below this bathroom. Initial inspection pointed towards a hidden drainage issue behind the vanity unit and concealed waste pipework, requiring further access for full leak detection and repair works.
Leak Investigation
The vanity unit was removed to allow access behind the wall and waste pipework. Once opened, the source of the leak was quickly identified as a failed and cracked waste fitting causing water to escape into the wall cavity and damage the ceiling below.
Access and Pipework Repair
Access was carefully opened to expose the damaged waste pipework and allow proper repairs to be carried out. The failed section was removed and replaced before the system was retested to ensure the leak had been fully resolved.
Pipework was upgraded and reconfigured to provide a more reliable long-term drainage setup.
Wall Repair and Making Good
Once the leak repair was completed and tested successfully, the wall section was repaired and boarded before preparation for reinstatement works.
Vanity Unit Reinstallation
A new basin trap was fitted and the vanity unit rehung before carrying out final testing on both the waste and water connections.
All pipework was fully tested before completion to confirm the leak had been permanently repaired.
